This piece of Ash came from Leixlip Co. Kildare. Olive Ash is the name given to the rich darker heartwood found in large Ash trees as it has similar grain colouring and patterns to the Olive tree.

Ash is wonderful wood and has many uses such as tool handles, hurleys, etc. It’s a joy to work with such a quality material and thankfully it’s quite plentiful here in Ireland.
